How To Download and Install Official Windows 10 without product key

You can upgrade or install official Windows 10 without a product key by downloading Media Creation Tool from Microsoft servers, which allow you either upgrade the current version of the operating system or create installation media with windows 10.

You will have to download right version of operating system,  so check your version first. For computers with RAM of 4 GB or more – a 64-bit version, for computers with less than 4 GB – 32-bit. It is important to chose right version if you are going to update your windows, in case of creation installation media using either a USB flash drive or a DVD to install or reinstall Windows 10 from scratch you be able to select a version later.

After starting the downloaded utility, you will see only two possible ways to proceed. The first option – will update the current version of Windows 7 or 8.1 to version 10. The second option is the process of creating installation media of Windows 10 to install the operating system from scratch.

Since we are dealing with the original Windows 10, we need a key. Therefore, if your current windows is original and licensed version of windows 7 or 8.1, to receive the official Windows 10 will be easier by choosing first option. In this case, the new system will be automatically activated and you do not need enter a key.

 How to download the official Windows 10

To install windows 10 on formatted hard drive from scratch you need to choose a second option

Next, select the language, architecture and edition. Option”Both” provides the ability to create installation media with two revisions of the system – 32-bit and 64-bit.

Select the media – USB-device or ISO-image. You can select any you like. If you choose USB flash drive you will need one with at least 6 GB. Don’t forget backup your USB drive as everything will be removed from it while creation. If you choose ISO file you be able to create installation media later. In my case i’m going to select ISO file.

How to clean install Windows 10 from scratch without a product key

The installation of Windows 10 is slightly different from the installation of windows 8.1. After you boot your computer from bootable USB or DVD media you will see the familiar language menu and keyboard layout, click next, the next step will be the window where you have to enter a product key to activate. If you have windows 10 key enter here, otherwise  Click “Skip” and the installation process will continue.

Accept the licence terms and click next

on the next screen click “Custom: Install Windows Only (Advanced)

next, click New and Apply, Windows will create additional partitions for system files

While installation your computer might restart few times and when its done installer will ask you again to enter a product key to activate your operating system. You can enter a key if you have one or click on “do this later”.

next window will ask you “Who owns this PC” choose “I own it” and click next

in the next window enter your username and password if you have a Microsoft account. If you don’t have you can create one or just click on “Skip this step” to create local account

to create a local account simply enter your username and password if you need one

At the end of the last installation steps, you will see the Windows 10 –  but not activated. To activate the system, go to the “settings” – “Update and security”. Activate the system by typing a new product key or you can click on “Go to Store” to buy one.
